“I cannot believe you are going to put that THING on our child.”

Amy glared at Craig.

He responded sheepishly, “But you know how Ryan likes to take off, honey. This bungee leash is the only way we’ll be sure he doesn’t get away from us!”

“We’re just taking Ryan to a kiddie park, not to the Westminster Kennel Club!” Amy answered.

Craig then went to the door to open it soon as he heard the door bell rang. It was Amy’s best friend, Sarah with her kid Ashley.

After one look at Ryan, Ashley tugged on Sarah’s trouser leg and asked, “Is Ryan gonna play doggie?”

“Craig, have I not told you that leashing Ryan is not a good idea?” Sarah took her purse and and took out a tiny plastic panda. “Here you can use this, good thing I got an extra of these.”

Sarah told her friends how worried she was about her Ashley, but she wanted her to enjoy and have fun in the crowd. She demonstrated how the Child Guard alerts the parents by beeping if a child walks more than a few feet away from them.

Ashley suddenly interrupted, “Mommy says I need to hold on to my kitty,” while showing them her Child Guard in a cat shape on a ribbon around her neck.

“Child Guard Alert are shaped after pets, so kids won’t mind it being clipped to their clothes,” said Sarah.

Craig was holding his panda shaped Child Guard and asked, “But, what happens if at the same time we are all using our Child Guards? How will we know what our kids are doing?”

“The nice thing about the Child Guard system is, it spots around for a clearer frequency and that’s good ’cause anyone else’s system will not interfere with any others,” Sarah blurted. “So, can we go to the park now?”

At the park that afternoon, Ryan and Ashley had fun on a swing set while their parents relaxed on a park bench. The kids’ pet shaped Child Guard dangled in unison from their necks while they played.

Ryan looked up at a cloud, hearing a familiar ice cream truck sound approaching into the park. As expected, a couple seconds later, Craig’s Child Guard receiver beeped while attached to his key ring. And he then knew where his Ryan was going and he went to the ice cream vendor.

Amy saw Ryan and Craig both rushing their way to the ice cream vendor. It simply showed how her husband and son are alike, they really are indeed, “Like father, like son.”

Craig hurried up and scooped his kid up on his dash to the ice cream. They saw another young kid trying to strain against the nylon harness, Craig then thought of thanking Sarah for giving him the great Child Guard wonder that saved him from disgrace and enjoy the afternoon at the park instead.
