Now that Obama has won the race to the Whitehouse, will we lose our right to bear firearms and defend ourselves? Is the new president going to take away all handguns? If you’ve been watching the news, you’ll know that gun sales have dramatically increased since Obama won the primary election a few months back.

Obama does say that he supports the 2nd Amendment. However, his voting record indicates that he is totally against right to bear arms. In 2003, Barack Obama voted to ban hundreds of sporting rifles and shotguns commonly used for hunting and sports. In 2004, Obama voted to allow the prosecution of a victim using a firearm for self defense in his own house. That’s just to name a few, but this article isn’t about Barack Obama.

With Obama’s history of voting against gun owner’s rights, it is a real possibility that we will lose right to own and possess handguns. He has been known to say that he is looking for supreme court justices that will interpret the constitution with a modern view. So how will we handle it when someone breaks into our home and attacks our family? Will you be more at risk of an attack if the perpetrator knows you wont have a handgun? Every new law created with good intention, is not without it’s unintended and negative effect.

The answer for this dilemma may lie in a elegant but simple non-lethal self-defense technology. Legal to carry in 45 states, the Taser, or Air Taser Stun Gun can take down the most vicious assailant, with the added benefit of having total physiologic control of the attacker. The effects are temporary, and generally regarded as safe for use by police and citizens. Carried by many police personnel all over the world, the Taser has proven to be affordable, reliable, dependable, and highly effective.

Tasers don’t require a license to use or carry, however each person has to pass a felony background check is to activate them. Pre-registered anti-felon ID confetti tags are dispersed when the Taser is fired, helping police to quickly identify the owner. Also, every Taser has a lifetime replacement guarantee if it is lost while defending yourself. You can purchase several different models, ranging from about $250 to $1000.
