We tend to view our four-legged companions as very precious. Some people call a dog “man’s best friend” and we have certainly taken dogs and cats to our side over the generations, entrusting them as our most precious companions. Whether you classify yourself as a dog lover or a cat lover, you will do anything you can for your pets.

Encounters between human beings and dogs are not always as pleasant as we would like. Whilst some types of dog are bred to be hunting companions and are known to be aggressive, sometimes an encounter with any dog can be unpleasant. In this case, a dog repeller would be very handy.

Whilst there are, of course, laws which cover the situations where certain aggressive breeds of dog may be out in public, dogs can exhibit aggression at any time under certain circumstances. To be prepared for all eventualities, consider carrying an ultrasonic dog repeller. These devices have been proven to be very effective in almost any scenario.

The dog repeller combines bright lights and painful sounds, giving the dog a very quick and abrupt lesson, telling him that he does not want to be messing with you! Basically, the unit creates an ultrasonic frequency of between 20,000 and 25,000 Hz. Human beings cannot hear this, but dogs and cats most certainly can. The frequency is actually quite painful to them and the flashing LED light helps to keep the animal confused.

Don’t worry if you come across an unwanted dog on your daily travels. If you feel threatened, point the dog repeller from a distance of up to 40 feet and press the button. The animal will be disorientated and will run away, but no permanent harm will be caused.

In addition to its’ use in an emergency situation, the ultrasonic dog repeller can also be used for training. In fact, the device was developed for training but has subsequently found its way into the self-defense market. To train using this type of device, you should sound the tones carefully and selectively together with hand gestures and spoken commands. Reward the animal that listens to the commands and use the tone for only a second or so to scold.

There are many situations where a dog repeller can be useful. For example, a mailman needs to walk into and out of properties and should carry one at all times. A jogger or a bicyclist could find themselves confronted by a territorial animal at any time. Careful use of this product can be very advantageous for a dog trainer, whilst some people have an irrational fear of dogs and could carry a unit for peace of mind.

An electronic dog repeller is a valuable self-defense item which should only be used sparingly and in emergency situations. You will find that you only need to emit a short tone to deter the animal and see if scampering in the other direction.
