Infrared security cameras work on the basis of forming images by using infrared radiation. In theory, infrared technology works on the basis of knowing that each object has a certain degree of radiation it emits which is known as black-body radiation. An object with higher temperature will give off more infrared radiation.

Good IR security cameras are able to detect the radiation from an object and can work in the same way as ordinary cameras do, when they detect as well as process ordinary light. The main benefit of this particular camera is that it can work even in complete darkness, this is because such cameras do not depend on light to create and capture images.

Fire alarms are an integral part of every home. They silently protect the family and their possessions twenty-four hours a day. There are a great number of deaths each year that could have been prevented if there were functioning alarms placed in the building. Laws have even been passed that require homes to be constructed with fire alarms installed. However, even a pre-installed alarm requires monitoring to make sure that it continues to work.
